No Bird

by William Troup

No bird, whose patience rarely flaunts, delights in a cage to slowly bide; their flight, whose feathers do rarely recall, awaits the battlement to gracefully fall. A wholesome flower prevails in truth, as summer's veil beckons their youth; no bird, whose callings scarcely caper, envisions their heights with iron walls!
